Materials first
Available before the session rather than sent afterwards, so people arrive having read something.
Register
Taken automatically from attendance and editable by the teacher, because automatic registers are wrong often enough to need a human.
Questions
Queued rather than shouted, which makes a large session usable and a quiet student audible.
Recordings
Published against the module they belong to, not dumped in a folder by date.
Repeat absence
Surfaced across sessions. One missed class is nothing; four is a conversation worth having early.

The limits
What this is not.
The same list we give for every app in the catalogue, because the fastest way to a bad project is a promise made in a meeting that nobody wrote down.
It is not a video platform
Live sessions and recordings connect to a streaming provider you choose. Rebuilding video delivery would be expensive and worse.
We do not accredit anything
A certificate carries exactly the authority your institution carries. Awarding-body recognition is between you and them, and no software confers it.
The register is a record, not a proof
It reflects who was connected. Whether that means somebody was present and learning is a judgement for the teacher.
It does not replace teaching
Scheduling, joining and recording are administration. What happens in the session is not something software improves.

Which video provider does it use?
One you choose. Video delivery is a solved problem with several good providers, and rebuilding it would be expensive and worse than what exists.
Is the register automatic?
It is taken automatically and the teacher can correct it. Fully automatic registers are wrong often enough, a dropped connection, a shared device, that a human has to be able to override.
Where do recordings live?
With your video provider, linked from the module. That keeps storage costs where they belong and the recording where students will look for it.
Can students ask questions?
Yes, queued rather than shouted. It makes a session of sixty usable and gives the quietest student the same channel as the loudest.
Do I get the source code?
Yes. Both apps, API, schema, migrations and deployment configuration transfer on delivery.
