Privacy notice

This notice explains how BuyOwnCode handles personal data collected through this website and through enquiries about BuyOwnCode. It does not cover data held inside applications we have delivered to you, once the software is running on your infrastructure, you are the controller of that data and we are not.

Information you give us. Name, work email, country code and mobile number, company, team size and the description you write when you submit the enquiry form or email us.

Context sent with an enquiry. So that a reply can be useful without asking you to repeat yourself, an enquiry also carries the page you sent it from, the full address of that page, the site that referred you, any campaign parameters the link carried, the time you sent it, and your timezone — the last so that a call can be offered in your working hours rather than ours. Your IP address and the approximate city it resolves to are recorded by the form provider, as they are for any request to this site. We do not collect your screen size, device or language list, and nothing is read from your browser except at the moment you press send.

Technical information. Standard server logs including IP address, user agent and requested URL, retained for security and diagnostics.

We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and which applications are opened, and only once you have accepted it. It sets two cookies holding a random identifier, never a name or an email. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers or any analytics that fingerprints visitors, and Analytics is not linked to any Google advertising product. The cookie policy lists every cookie in full.

To reply to your enquiry and prepare a scope or quote.

To perform a contract with you, or take steps at your request before entering one.

To keep the site secure and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted after 24 months. Project records are kept for the duration of the engagement plus the period our tax and contractual obligations require. Server logs are rotated within 90 days.

We operate from India, the United States and Germany, and use processors in those regions. Where personal data leaves the UK or EEA it is transferred under Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent lawful mechanism.

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to processing. Email hello@buyowncode.com and we will respond within one month. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
