Product Catalog

The range, browsable and always current, for the many businesses whose customers do not check out in an app, they ask a rep, request a quote or visit the counter.

Inside the app

What it does out of the box

22 connected functions on one schema across 1 user type. Everything below is in the template before a line of customisation.

Browse

Categories, search and filters across the range, with availability shown per item.

Product

Specifications, variants, dimensions and downloadable datasheets. The questions a trade customer actually asks, answered on the page.

Price optional

Show prices, show them only to signed-in trade accounts, or show none at all. Plenty of businesses cannot publish a price and should not be forced to.

Enquire

An enquiry with the product attached, so nobody has to describe which item they mean in an email.

Always current

One catalogue, updated once. No printed sheet that went out of date the day it was collected.

Fast and text-first

Usable on a trade counter connection and on an older phone, because that is where it gets opened.

User types

One user type, and no checkout.

Adding a cart to a catalogue for a business that sells through reps or quotes makes the app worse, not better. This is the catalogue alone, and the enquiry lands with a person.

Customer, the only user

Browses the range, sees specifications and availability, and gets in touch. There is no checkout, because plenty of businesses sell through a rep, a quote or a trade counter.

  • Browse and search the full range
  • Specifications and downloads per product
  • Availability without a price where you prefer
  • Enquire about a product directly
  • No account, no cart, no checkout

The limits

What this is not.

The same list we give for every app in the catalogue, because the fastest way to a bad project is a promise made in a meeting that nobody wrote down.

It does not sell

No cart, no checkout, no payment. If you need those, that is the Shopping App. This is deliberately the catalogue alone.

It carries no audience

It is your range at your link. Discovery is a separate problem.

Specifications are yours to keep accurate

The app shows what you enter. It cannot verify a supplier change.

It is not a quoting engine

Enquiries reach a person. Automated pricing with rules and approvals is Quote Builder in the business catalogue.

Questions

Questions, answered plainly.

If yours is not here, ask it on the call rather than guessing from a pricing page.

Why a catalogue without a checkout?

Because a great many businesses sell through reps, quotes or a trade counter, and bolting a cart onto that makes the app worse. If you do sell direct, the Shopping App is the one you want.

Can we hide prices from the public?

Yes. No prices, public prices, or prices only for signed-in trade accounts, configured at scoping rather than assumed.

Can it upgrade to selling later?

Yes. The catalogue structure is the same one the Shopping App uses, so it is a migration rather than a rebuild.

Do I get the source code?

Yes, on the same terms as every app here. No licence key and nothing that calls home.
